THE CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT
The primary method of care at Unruh Chiropractic and Wellness is the chiropractic adjustment. We use a caring, gentle, yet highly effective prone adjustment technique, so there is no need to worry about any violent twisting motion. The purpose of the adjustment is to restore proper joint motion and help the body to move in the way that it was designed. The chiropractic adjustment also relieves pressure from the nerves around the spinal cord, allowing these nerves to function properly. As long as the body’s nervous system is free of pressure and interference, the body can work at its optimal level. This is the basic philosophy of chiropractic care.
Your ability to prevent disease relies substantially upon the condition of your spine and nervous system. A well aligned spine is a major factor in determining whether your body is producing health (optimum physical, mental and social well-being) or disease. Our doctor’s top priority is to correct your spine to optimize your nerve function. That way, every healthy choice you make has a lasting impact.
This specific type of traction is used for nearly all of our patients during their visits. This is a therapy we perform either directly prior to or after the adjustments. Intersegmental traction separates the vertebrae to allow blood flow to the discs, exercises muscles/ligaments, and stimulates important acupuncture points. This not only helps to relax the patient, but it also allows us to deliver a more gentle adjustment.
At Unruh Chiropractic and Wellness, we take digital x-rays. This vital information gives the doctor another piece of the puzzle in order to come to an accurate diagnosis. X-rays are taken on a case-by-case basis, taking into account all the history, symptoms, and personal factors the patient presents. The combination of patient history, personal factors, examination findings, and x-ray findings (if necessary) are tools we use to diagnose your problem and design the proper care plan.
Auriculotherapy is a health care modality in which the external surface of the ear is stimulated to alleviate symptoms throughout the body. Acupuncture and Chiropractic go hand in hand. The stimulation of acupuncture points decreases the resistance to the adjustment delivered and allows the patient to get better faster when the two are used in conjunction.
